I heard a happy yell from the bedroom this morning, "WOOT WOOT!" Jesse weighed himself and it is GOOD NEWS!
This is the first time Jesse stepped on the scale since just before Thanksgiving and he is up SEVEN pounds - it is what we have been praying for. His lowest weight was on 11/12 - and it was after that that we started some new protocols to the routine:
1. CBD oil tinctutre, 1 gram a day of cocentrated medical cannabadiol
2. Rebounding - several minutes a day on a mini trampoline to get the lymph system working
3. Lymph massage from Dr. Lawler at the UW Integrative Clinic
4. Acupuncture from Dr. Weber at the UW Integrative Clinic
We continue to see Dr. Reeson for chiropractic once a week. The body works together as a whole unit. The prostrate gland is just one tiny part of the entire body. Jesse's spine had to be adjusted and repositioned. His bulging three lumbar discs had to decrease in inflammation in order to allow the immune system to communicate with the prostrate gland. It all ties together...and unfortunately, many MDs do not recognize this. If there is a problem, there is a cause ...which then has an effect - aka chronic pain, disease, etc.
Jesse has admitted he needs to get back on track with a number of protocols he has slacked on...such as the juicing or Arbonne Greens Balance - to fuel oxygen to the cells; the quark from the Budwig protocol (cottage cheese/flaxseed oil mixture); using the BioMat daily. I can understand...it does get tiring day after day (although I let him take weekends off).
We have an oncology appointment today. Jesse plans to let the oncologist know that he does not want his drugs - and thank him graciously for his time. The whole idea that testosterone should be brought to zero for prostrate cancer makes no sense to us. We can only pray that mainstream medicine will start looking beyond the information the drug companies provide them with, and review outside study information. Jesse makes a lot of sense to me when he asks, "if they bring my testosterone to zero - how will my body ever put muscle back on?" Right? A very good question...the body cannot make muscle without this primary steroid hormone. His testosterone has been low for several years, which has allowed the estradiol to take hold. The books I have read, by Dr. John Lee, Dr. David Zava, Dr. Chrstine Rollins, and more, point towards estradiol (E2 hormone) as being the driving force for cancers of the reproductive system. As Michael Platt MD, stated so matter of fact in his book, "The Miracle of BioIdentical Hormones" - if testosterone caused prostrate cancer, why don't we have an epidemic amongst 17 year old boys?" If you have one of those, as we do, doesn't that question make you say, "oh yeah - that makes sense". This is not supposed to be a "health lesson" blog...that is what my Purely Living blog is for....but we feel a part of the reason we are going through this is to help others.
We are sending another sample to the Navarro Clinic in the Phillipines today...and look forward to having results back hopefully by Christmas. The HCG test measures active cancer cells in the body...and so far, each test has had the number going DOWN. All the more reason to keep on taking the healthy approach to total healing!
God has been so good to us... continually healing Jesse's body, showing us love through all of your prayers and support, and by bringing people into our lives that are on the same journey, or going through their own struggles. We can walk along side them, share our story of how He is at work in our lives...and celebrate the lives we have been given.
Rejoicing this day,
Rita

We Had A Great Thanksgiving
Jesse felt really good on Thanksgiving day, and overall, is so much better than he was 6 weeks ago. Pain has returned in his right hip, however, which is preventing good rest again. With the holiday over, we will return to a 100% anti-inflammatory diet - which means no dairy (not even organic whipped cream), and no gluten, or even gluten-free simple carbs.
Jesse was doing so well, and has more of a limp back today...which means back to the strict diet plan. He longs for the day when he can eat things we shouldn't. I am confident the day will come where he can enjoy an occasional sweet treat and not have after-effects of pain.
On Friday we visited a local practitioner who has a Wellness Pro unit. Developed as an FDA approved medical device as a TENS unit, it also helps with micro nutrient absorption. Anything that can help Jesse's body assimilate nutrients and promote weight gain is a good tool in healing, in my opinion. We will be talking to his doctor's about it and ask for a prescription. For the unit to be effective, Jesse would need to use it every other day...which would equate to a lot of winter driving and session fees.
We are learning much about the many resources available for holistic healing. This is a learning journey for certain.
Jesse is, for the first time in several years, actually excited about Christmas. He WANTS to listen to Christmas music...so I am putting a request out there...for a techno geek. I had won an iPod Nano...Jesse may have a little iPod from ETC as well. He was told he could download a bunch of music from our CDs to the iPod and hook it up to a boombox to listen to it. (We learned our boombox doesn't have the right jack inlet, but we may have something else around here...). I am asking for a volunteer who could, in a short time frame as it is December, grab a bunch of our CDs (Jesse could list his favorites) and be willing to rip? the songs and download to the iPod. Granted, this means I need to find the cables...hmmm
But if you have the know-how and are willing to do so, hopefully in a week or so he could be listening to seasonal favorites... let us know.
In gratitude,
Rita

Gratitude for Progress in this Journey
Happy Thanksgiving to all. I see Jesse has already posted...he is "bright eyed and bushy tailed" this morning, as my father would say to the early risers growing up on the farm.
We are so thankful for the progress in Jesse's healing. Both Dr. Lawler, our DO who does lymphatic massage, and Dr. Reeson, chiropractic noticed how much better Jesse is doing....in movement, energy, his eyes.... His body is adjusting so much easier to their work. The areas where I apply essential oils or DMSO for pain are much fewer. He no longer "goes through the roof" with pain when I lightly touch him to do these light massages.
In fact, my husband is feeling so good right now he is in the kitchen making us broccoli quiche with gluten-free crust for Thanksgiving breakfast.
I am so thankful to the Integrative Health Institute, which I joined several months ago. The organization continually brings the leaders in alternative oncology to educate members on what they are using for successful remissions of stage four cancer patients, without the use of chemo and radiation. This week Jesse and I had the opportunity to sit down and listen to an interview with alternative oncology MD - Thomas Lodi, who has a clinic in the Philipines, but also Oasis of Hope Healing Center in Arizona.
Lodi stresses the importance of an alkaline diet and detoxification, but perhaps more importantly he says to, "Be conscience of your thought and changing the pattern."
He mentioned envisioning work he does with his patients, having them draw the cancer smaller and smaller each time they come to see him. Jesse really liked this idea.
We were able to submit questions prior to the webinar, and he did confirm that CBD Oil is superb for fighting cancer, inflammation and metastasis. I admit a sense of relief in hearing him say so, since we had invested in the medicine from a company in California that I found another alternative clinic offering on their website. Because of all of you and your support, we had the means to do so.
For those who would like to learn more about medical hemp, you can visit my Purely Living blog,
If you check out the video you will see the woman cured is rebounding, which is something Jesse has also begun doing in the past two weeks. Rebounding helps his lymph nodes to drain, and in combination with the acupuncture, lymph massage and adjustments - his body is able to detox more readily. Inflammation has greatly decreased, and because of all this his body is able to use the nutrients he is consuming more easily.
Gratitudes are many on this day....
- the great team of people we are working with
- the friends from St. Martin's who came to work on house projects this week
- the group of people who rallied to get the "purr healing factor" of a cat into our home this week
- friends who have visited and helped me with housework
- the generosity of those who offered great auction/raffle items for the spaghetti dinner this coming week
- our friend who made Jesse an organic Thanksgiving turkey plate for today.
And more. Speaking of which - we hope many of you will make it to the spaghetti dinner at the Cross Plains American Legion a week from Saturday, Dec. 6 from 4-7 pm. There will be GLUTEN FREE pasta available, as I know many have that need. As well as meatless marinara for my vegetarian friends. It means Jesse can enjoy the pasta as well. He is feeling so good right now I would not doubt that he can be present the entire three hours.
As I listen to him beating eggs in the kitchen, and I picture in my mind what he was like 6 weeks ago...he has "come a mile" as Dr. Reeson said this week. Jesse is looking forward to a game of cards with his family as we head to Black Earth for Thanksgiving dinner.
We appreciate all of you and give thanks for you each and every day,
Rita

Thanksgiving
Father, Thank you for this day, for all the help my family is receiving, your providence, and the healing I'm experiencing. You are Holy and good. It is you I seek. Thank you for creating me and drawing me to you and revealing who you are. Amen!
I learned this morning already a thankful heart brings peace, this in turn relieves stress and healing can abound. What are you thankful for? Tell God. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving everyone, thoroughly enjoy the day, it's going to be great!

Thankful
Jesus Calling mentioned being thankful and prayer. Often even lifting my leg to climb a stair I find I'm thanking Him for each step I'm able. I praying for continual improvement and am so grateful. Thank you Father!
The snow on the trees and shrubs, the blue sky, and the birds on the feeder...the day is off to a wonderful Start! Off to refill the feeders, Peace to you!

Peace
This evening had a moment I found pleasant. My wife singing, my son whistling and my daughter playing her ocarina. I could hear all of this while lying on the floor. This is good, I believe it reveals something...the overflow of our hearts. Thank you Father for music and peace!

Giving
My wife is amazing if you haven't figured this by now. My path would be different if not for her and all the education she has built up. We've put together a team to get us through this and Rita can breath easier, this good and right. I love you Rita!
I am so blessed in many ways and it is overwhelming me. I've never been on this side something like this and it's hard to be... sidelined? So many have blessed us with so much that I no longer have words to satisfy the appreciation inside. You are loved by me.
Being on this side, God is showing me much and it's often uncomfortable. What I'm learning and will learn I can take with me and encourage others ahead. I don't how or when but that's OK. I just need to walk close to Him and yield to The Holy Spirit. God has done so much in me. He removed my desire to get get drunk years ago, this after seeking Him through reading The Holy Bible from front to back. I will tell you of this encounter if would like to get together with me. (He wants a relationship with everyone I have found). He is living I come to know, not religion. He also got me through a lung disease and I believe will get me through my current trial. God is good!
Please don't hesitate to contact me If you would like. Nothing is more important than your relationship with our Creator, Jesus is the way provided. Peace to you this day and the days ahead!
